Valentina is a 2nd year student of Kherson State University. She learns at the Department of Psychology of the Faculty of History, Psychology and Sociology.
Since 2016 Valentina has been participating in the project “Peace to Your Home“. After she had attended several trainings and seminars she decided to try herself as a volunteer.
Valentina provides all kinds of assistance to the project participants Anna Pinsukhovna and Anatoly Ilyich Matusevich, who are wards of „Hesed Shmuel“.
Anatoly Ilyich is a person with a disability and is in a wheelchair today. He never goes out in the fresh air and he suffers of lack of communication. He doesn’t even want to be photographed!
Since the day they met Valentina they found a common ground. Valentina is a talented young woman interested in literature, music, and applied arts. Anatoly Ilyich is also a handyman: he is a cabinetmaker by profession, and also makes remarkable items in quilling techniques.
Anna Pinsukhovna was also glad to meet Valentina and decided to teach the young lady to cook.

My name is Ira, I am 20 years old. I study on the 4th course in National academy of internal affairs at faculty of psychology. I am fond of computer technologies, and also I practice dancing. First I have come to Hesed being a child. Here I have studied, developed myself. Slowly my activity in Heseda has flowed in volunteering. Now I help to fulfill the dreams of the elderly in the project “Dream Does Not Grow Old”, and also participate in volunteer actions of “Grandson for an Hour” project. I like to be a volunteer, to do good, useful deeds. I see that my work brings benefit; I see grateful eyes of grandmothers. It is very important for me.

My name is Lushnikova Natalia, I’m 29 years old. Now I’m a housewife, and bring up my son. I am fond of beadwork, knitting and reading detective novels. Best of all I remember my first volunteer action. It was a trip to the boarding school. I enjoyed communication with children, adults, and have learnt a lot of interesting things from them. Volunteering helps me to expand the horizons, makes you open latent opportunities in yourself and in others. I like everything I do; it brings me so much joy! I take part in the projects “We Love Kherson”, “Grandson for an Hour” and “Warm New Things”.

I’m in the Kherson polytechnic college at 4 course. I am 19 years old. I’m interested in computer graphics, doing layouts of printed materials and presentations. My motto is: “If you want to make a better world – start with yourself.” This inspired me to become a volunteer. When I’m volunteering time does not pass in vain for me. I am encouraged by the opportunity to help people. I have started volunteering, because thanks to this activity I not only develop myself as a person, but also gain experience in dealing with people. Besides that, helping people brings me much joy. I am always ready to be there for those who need for me.
